TIP 1 from Walter, our experienced senior security consultant for window security.

Replace your standard window handles with locking window handles.

Far too often we still see a burglar pass by a window breaks inward by the so-called "hole drilling" technique.

With a standard drill and a simple tipped awl, it really is child's play to open a window by drilling a hole through the frame. Moreover, this method is quite noiseless, especially with a cordless drill.

We can actually say that window handles with a lock should just be installed as standard on new windows. Because no matter how good and sophisticated the multi-point locks in a window are, if you can turn the handle from the outside, you're in.

Moreover, replacing a standard stool with a safety stool is technically very easy. This can be done by any somewhat handy do-it-yourselfer in less than 5 minutes.

Window handle SecuDuplex® with innovative double function:

On the window handle SecuDuplex® (with dual function), the handle can only be operated when the push-button locking cylinder is unlocked and pressed when turning. This means that even after opening, the handle can only be operated when the push-button locking cylinder is pressed. If the push-button lock cylinder is not depressed, the handle remains blocked in the locked 0° position and the 180° tilt position.

In addition, manipulation of the window hardware from the outside and twisting of the square pin is prevented by the automatic locking (push-button technology) even when the window handle is not locked. By locking the window handle, you prevent unauthorized persons from operating the handle from the inside, making a burglary attempt from the outside considerably more difficult.
